Dog Days Of Summer At Winghaven

Beat The Heat at Winghaven
during our three-day blitzes!

Enjoy these special interest immersions:

Geography Blitz
 June 12, 13, and 14th, 11AM-2PM
Explore the World's Great Mountain Ranges.
Geology, geography, anthropology, culinary arts and more all in a 3 day gig.
Recommended for friends aged 6-14.
Suggested contribution: $35 per child, by June 7.

Star Wars Blitz

July 10, 11th, and 12th, 11AM-3PM
Star Wars. When my little brother annoyed me to no end with his Darth Vader obsession back in 1977, I had no idea it would be a life sentence; that I would marry a Han Solo fan, and we would breed little saber-bearers.  What's a homeschooling mom to do? Why, make it into a unit study, of course!

Those of you willing to admit that you had a secret crush on Luke and wanted hair just like Leia's are invited to bring your stormtroopers and ewoks ages 4-14 over for three afternoons of pseudo-educational fun.  All projects will be taken from The Star Wars Craft Book by Bonnie Burton which is dedicated to "Geeky crafters everywhere...May the glue gun be with you."  And our snacks will be samplings from The Star Wars CookBook, including Wookie Cookies, Tusken Raider Taters, Obi-Wan Kebabs, and other galactic recipes. We will also discuss the possible redemptive themes of the Star Wars series.
Suggested contribution: $45 per child, by July 1st.

Mini Weapons Blitz

July 24, 25, and 26th, 11AM-3PM

Our guys have flipped over the book "Mini Weapons Of Mass Destruction", which came one the heels of "Backyard Ballistics". One brother may or may not have almost caused himself serious dental damage with a homemade penny bomb.  Note to self: always check the contents of those innocent-looking brown paper bags purchased at Bob's Hobby Shop.  This 3-day blitz will not involve explosions, but homemade trebuchets and catapults and such will be sent home for your careful supervision!  Other delightful para-military experiences will make this unit study something to write home about.
Suggested contribution: $40 per child, by July 1st.
